The fabric of reality ripples as a world both within and beside our own is born. The gods of plenty have seen fit to reward our efforts in extracting the fruits of this world from its depths and carrying them to the surface. There is but one problem: the gods suffer from extreme shortsightedness.
In order to complete the work of powers beyond our own, the gods have left it to us to show them the bounties we have reaped. Our success will convince them to allow us access to new, unthinkable treasures, worlds to be torn apart without abandon.
The hour of the resource world is upon us. Help show the gods (whose vision is conveniently limited to the server’s spawn chunks) what we’ve done so far.
The resource world will open when all of the following goals are completed near the spawn house:
- A Warm Welcome: An inn for new players.
- Horn of Plenty: Wheat, potato, carrot, and beet farms for new players.
- The Bounty of the Sea: A fishing pond.
- An Unmistakable Show of Wealth: Three beacons, each instilling a different power.
- A Gate Between Realms: A portal that, when activated, will bring us to the resource world.*
With the exception of the portal to the Resource World, all of these contributions can be made by anyone and at any time after this post goes live.
Because the portal will be a pillar of the server’s spawn, we want to give all players equal opportunity to create something fit to impress these potentially made-up gods.
To submit a portal design, first construct your portal, either in a creative world or somewhere on the server, and send screenshots to the Resource Portal Contest thread on Discord. Portals must be built using accessible blocks and must not be taller than 20 blocks tall.
In one week, players will be asked to vote for their favorite of the portals, with the top vote receivers proceeding to a run-off.
The player who designs the winning portal will be given the opportunity to choose which biome the Resource World portal will take us to first.
